New For 2008

New for 2008:

We are now offering Rain lilies, or Zephyranthes.  They have the common name of rain lilies because they usually bloom several times a season, especially after a rain.  This is only my third year growing these, but they've quickly become a favorite.  I grow them in pots, but understand they are hardy in zones 7-10.

I also have a few extra Allium schubertii, or spaceship Allium, these should be planted now, you can plant them until your ground is frozen solid.  Just scrape off that snow and make a hole!   You can also force bloom them, although I've never done it myself.

5-7.5 cm circumference bulbs.  Sometimes called Zephyranthes robustus

5+ cm circumference bulbs.  So pretty on a gloomy day!

Large bulbs.  Really brighten up a garden. Plant in fall or force.  Such a crazy looking bloom, everyone will stare!

Not many new Calla varieties this year!
Red-orange flower, yellow on the outside.

One of my favorites for many years, but oh-so-hard to grow.  Give it a try if you dare! A new Calla- no photo yet.  My guess is Rose colored, small size (d'oh)
