| Ecuador Pink |
 |
Having the deepest tones within this color grouping, ‘Ecuador Pink’
remains one of the most popular Brugmansias. Spectacular blooms begin in
the spring and continue throughout the fall. Its long, pink trumpets
turn their fluted edges up
after dark, exuding a potent fragrance and a mysterious quality all at
once.

Soft
pink with a dark pink skirt edging, will grow to 5' by the middle of the
summer. It should produce many 8'-10' blossoms throughtout the summer.
Every 5 of 6

Nice, large pink flowered plants that hold up well in
heat and humidity. The plant can grow to a large size and it's glossy
green leaves aren't bothered very much by insects. This is one of the
top pinks in the US, and it is a real beauty with nice evening
fragrance. |

| Super Nova |
 |
The largest of large, this fragrant hybrid has some of
the largest blooms we've ever seen. Flowers reach up to 10+" across and
over 18" in length. Try growing this beauty in your outdoor summer
garden and prepare to be amazed at the attention "Super Nova" evokes.
Not only does it boast nighttime fragrance but its size brings
commanding attention. It's a rapid grower and easy to bring into flower. |

Brugmansias, or Angel Trumpets, are large, fast growing shrubs
that originated in Central and South America. In Florida they can grow
over 12 feet tall, but here in Tennessee they'll be much shorter.
If given good soil, fertilizer, and adequate water, they will reward you with
many blooms summer through fall. Most Angel Trumpets like strong morning
sun and some afternoon shade. They droop quickly if they get too dry, but
will spring back quickly once watered.
Angel Trumpets are in the same family as tomatoes, and they are subject to the
same pests and diseases. Watch out for hornworms and aphids. All
parts of the plant are poisonous.
Some people cut theirs low to the ground in the fall and mulch heavily.
Most Brugmansias stop growing at about 45°, so the plants can
be stored in a cool cellar or warm-ish garage without much sun. The best
time to move your "Brug" inside is when the outside temperature matches the
temperature where the plant will be stored- if stored in a warm location, move
it in when the weather is still warm, if stored in a cool location, wait until
outside temperatures are cool as well.
I've grown many of these over the years, we grew them to 8
ft in WI. Still, I only grow them for fun, and don't consider myself an
expert on them.
